During Civic Design, Michael Scricco, was showing us how to present effectively. A few years back he tried redesigning the New Britain Museum of American Art after previously designing for them many years back. I was inspired when he showed us his presentation and immediately started expanding his ideas. One that stuck with me was calling it THE BRIT. It really gives the NBMAA a whole new feel and truly steps the museum into the 21st century. Many of the biggest museums in the world have short, memorable names, that are straight to the point. A rebrand on the name alone could bring in many new guests and also reinvent their place on social media. My biggest problem when designing this logo was that I really had a hard time stacking the letters. The "I' under the "B" made the whole logo look top heavy so i decided the make the I wide and the logo suddenly felt more inviting. That "I" is now a window into the museum (as seen below). My next step is to make an animation of the logo.
